Configuration/1.19-0.4
This page explains every option in Voluminous Energy's config files for 1.19, 1.19.1 and 1.19.2 (0.4) (Forge). The defaults and descriptions are taken from the 1.19-0.4.0.1 release. See Configuration for where the files are and how to edit them.
voluminousenergy-common.toml
A common config: it is loaded on both the client and the server. On a multiplayer server, the server's copy is the one that matters for gameplay.
General
TOML section: [General]
| Setting | Default | Allowed values | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
Allow Extraction from Input Tanks | false | true / false | Allow pipes to extract fluids from fluid input tanks. Disabling this means that only fluid outputs can be extracted from Tile Entites When false (the default), pipes can only pull fluid out of a machine's output tanks. When true, they can also drain input tanks. |
Acid Damage | 3 | 0 to max float | Damage taken from standing in an acid. Applies to Sulfuric Acid, Red Fuming Nitric Acid and White Fuming Nitric Acid blocks in the world. The damage is dealt as fire damage while an entity is inside the acid. |
Acid Fire Duration | 4 | 0 to max int | Duration of fire on an entity for stepping into an acid. An entity inside an acid is also set on fire for this many ticks. |
Solarium Protective Sheath | 2560 | 0 to max int | How many uses a Solarium tool can have before the protective sheath is depleted Solarium tools have a protective sheath that absorbs this many uses before the tool itself starts to take damage. |
Solarium Sheath Regeneration Chance | 0.0175 | 0 to 1 | The percent chance (as a decimal) of a Solarium sheath regenerating on a tick when exposed to skylight Each tick a Solarium tool is in the inventory of a player or mob that can see the sky, this is the chance that its sheath regains one use (up to the maximum). 0.0175 is a 1.75% chance per tick. |
Decrement Speed On No Power | 5 | 1 to 20 | Speed of which progress should be undone at a machine when the machine loses power/FE |
Food
TOML section: [Food]

Cooked Rice Saturation | 0.3 | greater than 0, up to max float | Saturation of Cooked Rice. |
Rice Tick Chance | 0.5 | greater than 0, up to 1 | Chance of Rice crop going to next life stage. Chance, on each random tick, that a Rice crop grows to its next stage. |
World Generation
Feature Generation
TOML section: ["World Generation"."Feature Generation"]
| Setting | Default | Allowed values | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
Enable Logging | false | true / false | Enable/Disable Logging of Word Generation information for Voluminous Energy features and Ores Writes a line to the game log for every feature and ore Voluminous Energy adds to a biome. Useful for checking a datapack or config change, very noisy otherwise. |
Climate Spawns
TOML section: ["World Generation"."Climate Spawns"]
| Setting | Default | Allowed values | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
Punch Holes in Climate Spawns | true | true / false | To prevent continuous valid chunks, 'punch holes' by removing spawns from valid chunks (Ex: Reduce non-water or lava appearances for the Dimensional Laser) Applies to the Dimensional Laser. A chunk only yields a fluid if its climate (continentalness, erosion, humidity and temperature) matches one of the dimensional lasing recipes. When this is true, some matching chunks are made empty ("hole punched") so that fluid isn't available everywhere in a large region with the same climate. The decision is seeded from the chunk's climate values, so the same chunk always gives the same result. |
Climate Spawns Hole Punch Multiplier | 10,000 | 1 to max int | Multiply cumulative climate value by this multiplier The four climate values are added together and multiplied by this number to seed the random number generator used for hole punching. |
Climate Spawns Hole Punch Bounding | 100 | 10 to 10000 | Value to be used for binding the RNG The random number used for hole punching is drawn between 0 and this value (exclusive). |
Climate Spawns Hole Punch Number Must Be Larger Than | 47 | 1 to 10000 | If generated number is smaller than this value, the chunk will be 'hole punched'. The config comment is backwards. In the code, a chunk is hole punched (made empty) when the random number is larger than this value. With the defaults (bounding 100, value 47), numbers 48 to 99 punch the chunk, so about 52% of chunks with a matching climate yield no fluid. Raise the value to make more chunks yield fluid. |
