The '''Pump''' is a machine for pumping up fluids in a 44x44 area. On placement, the pump will check the fluid immediately below it and will only pump that exact fluid (known as the "pumping fluid"). This may cause problems with mods that register a flowing fluid separately from a fluid in a still/standing state (such as Oil from Pneumaticcraft Repressurized). The pump sucks fluid one block at a time starting at the top left of the 44x44 square. Starting in
v1.18.2-0.3.0.3
, the pump will skip blocks that do not contain the pumping fluid.
The '''Pump''' pumps a single fluid out of the world.

It works through a 45 × 45 block area (22 blocks in each direction from the Pump) one layer at a time, from its own level down to the bottom of the world, checking 200 blocks per tick ("Pump Check Cycles Per Tick"). Every source block of the pumping fluid it finds is removed and adds 1,000 mB to its tank, as long as the tank has room. Use the bucket slots, or pipe the fluid out, to empty the tank.

The Pump has no upgrade slot.

The Pump pumps a single fluid out of the world.

This page describes Voluminous Energy 0.5 (Alpha 2, for 1.21.1, 26.1.2 and 26.2). All numbers are the default values from the startup config and can be changed there.

Usage

When placed, the Pump checks the fluid directly below it and from then on only pumps that fluid (the "pumping fluid").

Inventory

The "default face" is the side of the machine that automation (hoppers, pipes) uses for the slot by default, relative to the machine's front. It can be changed in the machine's IO settings.

Crafting a Pump on its own in a crafting grid returns a fresh Pump, clearing its stored data.

Notes

Older versions of this page said the Pump uses 16 FE/t and covers a 44 × 44 area. In 0.5 it uses 128 FE/t and covers 45 × 45.
