The Blast Furnace can maintain the high temperatures needed for alloying metals, such as making Netherite or Solarium.
This page describes Voluminous Energy 0.5 (Alpha 2, for 1.21.1, 26.1.2 and 26.2). All numbers are the default values from the startup config and can be changed there.
Usage
Put the ingredients in the input slots and a hot fluid in the tank. Each recipe has a minimum temperature (shown in kelvin in the recipe table). The recipe only runs if the temperature of the fluid in the tank is at least that high, so a hot fluid such as Lava (1,300 K) is needed. Each operation uses 50 mB of that fluid ("Heat Source Consumption"). An upgrade in the upgrade slot shortens the processing time (see Machine upgrades).
Energy
| Default | Config setting | |
|---|---|---|
| Power consumption | 256 FE/t | Power Consumption |
| Energy storage | 512,000 FE | Maximum Power |
| Maximum input/output | 10,000 FE/t | Maximum Transfer |
Inventory
The "default face" is the side of the machine that automation (hoppers, pipes) uses for the slot by default, relative to the machine's front. It can be changed in the machine's IO settings.
| # | Slot | Default face | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Bucket input (fill/empty tank) | Up | |
| 2 | Bucket output | Down | |
| 3 | InputSlot | Right | |
| 4 | InputSlot | Left | |
| 5 | Item output | Back | |
| 6 | Upgrade | — | Speeds up processing (see Machine upgrades) |
Tanks
| Tank | Capacity | Restriction |
|---|---|---|
| Input | 4,000 mB |
Multiblock
The Blast Furnace is the controller of a multiblock. It only works when there is a solid 3 × 3 × 3 cube of Titanium Machine Casing (27 blocks) next to it, with the controller against the middle of the bottom layer of one side of the cube. Which side depends on the direction the controller faces. The structure is checked once a second.
